My series, “I Made A Camera” is a long term video project where I use various DIY filmmaking equipment to create a wide ranging diary film which will span many years, and many homemade cameras. “I Made A Camera: 1 Day” is a more short term project which uses a camera that I have made from the ground up (or at least as “from the ground up” as I can manage with my technical knowledge) to document a single day. The ethos of the entire project is that the various imperfections are a result of my own hands, and are an expression of myself.
For this video, I used a camera I have made from a single board computer, a camera sensor, a pinhole made from a beer can, and a cigar box. It runs on an extremely inefficient and unreliable python script (I studied philosophy in college), recording at a modest resolution of 640×480 at 10 frames per second.
This video is comprised of video recorded on May 11, 2025.
Upcoming Screening: 9/14/25 as part of Ridgewood Off-Kilter Film Festival at the Stone Circle Theater in Queens, NY
