When I was 19 I worked at a camera store and an older coworker taught me a ton about pinhole photography. I was immediately obsessed with the notion that I can make a camera myself out of nearly anything so long as I could make it light tight. I was equally obsessed with taking the notion of making something myself to the extreme and I thought that growing the body of the camera was a great way to push that boundary. In my family’s garden I harvested a summer squash and used it to take photos of other summer squash. Additionally, I made a short video to show the process.
